She has done this on television

In 2007 Susan was one of the expert nannies on Help I'm A Teen Mum for ITV1. Six teenage mums and their babies spent two weeks in a converted house in Lincolnshire, and Susan was one of the people teaching them how to cope. She is billed on screen as Susie Whytock.

Why it matters

Susan was picked for that programme for the same reason families call her now. She walks into a situation that has gone wrong, works out what is actually happening, and shows the parent how to do it themselves. The television version had cameras on it. Everything else she has done for forty years has been in people's houses, quietly, on recommendation.
